Space'n out w/NASA

Postby SabreHawk » Wed Dec 24, 2003 11:38 pm

Well Im so fascinated with the space flight thing lately, that I just see to be flipping back & forth between Fs2k4, & Orbiter. I wish that there were a sim that combines the two of them, but I geuss I'll just have to be a two timer till then, so here's a shot or two of me "Spacing out" the last week.  :P  :

First, some flight time in the T-38 Trainer.

Then it's time ta git outta dodge, Delta style.

And go have a look at our "Big Blue Ball" aren't we all so beautiful from up here?
Image
And just one more, before re-entry........

Sigh...........so nice to getaway...........from time to time,
but always go to be home. :)
Thanks everyone for the last couple of month's, for all your help, your comments, and all that has been shared.
Love you all......................Chuck. :D

:o Dude where did you find this program. It actually lets you orbit the earth and find your way back to an airport in FS9.

Another question is I know that Nasa is located in Houston, but exact where I can't find it for the love of god. Can you save me some F16 flight reconnisance time and hook me up with the Airport Code for the space station.
Its only in your mind, strong mind, strong soul and nobody can take that from you!

Yes tvale, is correct. Heh,heh, geuss I caught'cha not readin, and just lookin at the pictures eh Mav? ;D ;D

Yes, as I said, what one would wish for, is a sim that could combine the elements of both of these.
Sam, you can find the Free "Orbiter" at
http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/~martins/orbit/orbit.html

Since Orbiter is mostly based in space, and it's graphics arent that good outside of the KSC area, I kinda do the two timer thing and fly one,............ then the other. ::)

Mind you Sam, this Orbiter is a much more technical sim than Fs2k4, and the learning curve is steep.
I've made it to orbit & back yes,...........but very sloppily I must say, and Im learning, but the more I look into things, the more deep it get's. :o
Yes, and travel to the other planets, the moon, and all of'em..................but better break out the calculator. ;D
And be prepared to "get technical" :o

Here's one, from the dark side................
:o

Yeah Silent, it does. And there are a host of add-ons too.
For instance, you can now have sound with "Orbiter sound" a great add- on at Dan's Orbiter page, and well, the list goes on & on.
Another site I recomend highly is Moonport.org
http://www.moonport.org/
There's a forum there too as well as links to many fan sites.

And ya know, I think that Orbiter is very educational too.
It's teaching me a great deal about space travel and exploration, and has me really digging in to more and more knowlege as I go along.

So go ahead,.........get "Spaced out" it's fun. 8)
