In Cafe Simviation, a Screen Name thread started, and I explained that my S/N start in CFS when I flew the F-86 Saber Dog. My call sign, Fido, was a play on the Saber Dog name. It just occurred to me there may be members too young to remember this Korean War Veteran. So here is a pic, sorry, it's not a Saber Dog, it is an earlier version, but all I could find that worked in FS9, but you get the idea. Fido ;D
Ahh, nice Sabre there Fido, yeppers very good shot angle too. Hmmm, Sabre Dog eh? I like that. But then, well,.........you gotta now I like anything Sabre wise
I had thought about Sabrecat at one time also, hmmmm.
SabreHawk: The term Saber Dog refered to the F-86 D all weather intercepter version. The nose was alot different than the stock Saber so as to house radar. I once owned a hawk of sorts, a Falcon named Merlin, and I love dogs more than cats, so I think SabreHawk is a great Screen Name, much better than Sabercat.
Thanks Paul, a nice looking Saber Dog, is it FS9 compatable?
Fido ;D P.S. Just wanted to say thanks in advance, my Son just sent me a Paul Rebuffat Spitfire that you repainted. It is done as an LFIXb of the Belgian Air Force. I will post pictures later, after a real good shake down flight.
This is an FSDS V1 plane. So you can get it to work in FS9, but the animations ( eg wheels) are missing. I posted it as I thought that it might help some simmers to appreciate just why it was called 'Sabre Dog'........ie big, black nose... probably wet as well ;)
Call off your bombers, call off your bombers, my watch must have stopped. I got the Saber here at SimV http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military1.htm It is a sweet ride. I haven't figure out the canopy yet, but the airbrakes work. I think you will like her, just remember she is an old lady and need to be treated differently then those youg things you whipper-snappers fly these days. ;D ;D Let me know what you think.
