Solo practice

Postby HawkerTempest5 » Mon Jul 28, 2003 1:39 pm

Getting in a bit of practice before the FS airshow. Ozzy suggested we train out of RAF Cranwell so I thought I'd best get used to the area. Never know when you might need somewhere to land after getting lost in deepest Lincolnshire!
Image
Trying one of those "tuck the wheels up and stay low" type airshow take offs.
Image
Having a good look at Cranwell. I'll get lost and never see it again!
Image
Some fancy stunt flying! (not)
Image
And it's required of all airshow flyers to buzz the field.
Image
As predicted, I got lost and ended up at Scampton cerca 1944?
Image
Not sure if this is Cranwell, but I'm on a good glide path so I'm sticking with it now.
Image
Almost down, still lost though.
Image
Just a tiny bounce but otherwise a perfect three pointer. I wish I knew where I was.

This is going to be fun. Hope lots of you join in to watch Will, Mark and I make a total wreck out of three very nice Spitfires!

I'm pleased to report that Will didn't crash once in the hour and a half we were flying this evening (and we were being a bit silly at one point playing low level it on full throttle). For a full report check and a fabulous once in a lifetime offer check out the airshow thread in the 2k2 forum.

Ozzy ;)
