Terrors of the Pacific, SimV Dogfight part 1

Postby HawkerTempest5 » Mon May 12, 2003 3:56 am

Last nights dogfight was good fun, more like it used to be. Sadly Maccers still had problems getting in but Crazy Craig, brensec and I had a super free for all scrap!
Image
Spitfire head to head. Both Craig and I flew the MkXII Spit and it made for some great tight turning scraps, most of which he won!
Image
Closing for a scrap, Craig and brensec are shooting it out and I'm hanging about looking for an easy kill!
Image
Crazy Craig chasing me down. I hit the silk moments later!
Image
Layin' the Smack Down on Crazy Craigs Candy A**!
Image
But he soon got his revenge!
Image
The score board says it all.
Image
Craig had to leave so brensec and I did a bit of "shoot down the bomber." My P-40 taking down brensec's Val.
Image
Coming round for another shot. Brensec dive bombs the field whilst I try to shoot him down.
Image
Getting in close. I over shot here!
Image
Those chunks of metal are from my plane! That can't be healthy!

More in Part 2

I like No.3 also, even if it is my poor old Spit that's about to become toast!

Great work, mate.

I finally found the pics. It seems someone has caused a few posts to get shuffled out of order before their time....lol ;D

My poor old Val didn't stand a chance.
I think the one were you mention "pieces of metal from your plane" is actually me hitting the ground just in front of you. I recall hitting ground next to the hanger once when I couldn't pull up.  ;D

It is a shame your computer won't let you in. I remember you used to join in so have you changed anything?
Just out of curiosity, before you left the game, you picked a Spitfire MkIVc as you plane. I always thought the IV was the Griffon prototype. What is it and where did you get it?

Mine is a Merlin LF variant. From Avhistory.org. I thought the Griffons were only installed on Mk. XIV's and above ???
Now that i think about it, i think it might have somthing to do with 3rd party aircraft.
I'll wipe and reinstall, then try with stocks.

The Griffon prototype was given the MkIV designation. it was later changed to MkXX (?) and then to MkXII. The MkXII was the first Griffon powered Spit to enter Squadron sevice in 1943 but was only any good at low level and was quickly replaced by the MkXIV.

Hope you can get your CFS2 sorted Maccers pal.
