Early morning flight in FS9 from Orcas Island to Seattle in the Premier Aircraft Turbo-Beaver. Scenery includes John Stinstrom's Whidbey Island and Kenmore Base and KenmoreLakeUnionW55 by Roger Wensley and Jim Turner. The Kenmore scenery readme says that you need Ultimate Terrain, but I don't and the scenery works just fine.

Those are Wonderful screenshots which compliment the Wonderful aircraft you chose the simulated flight for.

Have you tried using FSWC (Flight Simulator Water Configurator) in FS9 :?:
It is Free and available here at the Simviation Download Section.

When I used FS2004 I believe I used it all the time and now I use it in FSX.
I like the variety of water textures one gets when using it.

I did not reinstall Flight 1:
Ground Environment X USA Canada Alaska
Ultimate Terrain X Canada
I find the ORBX settings do a good job although I am no professional when it comes Add-Ons... :lol:

such nice contrasty shots in fs9...wish fsx had some control for contrast and brightness etc......

I'm glad you like the shots. Thanks. I didn't know there was a version of FSWC for FS9. I use it in FSX and like it a lot. It's a great piece of freeware. If there's something like that for FS9, I'd like to see that.

For my FS9 water I use some mods by Ed Truthan called OceansFX abd OceansTX. Used together they provide some pretty convincing surface effects based on wind direction and speed and swell direction. You can have anything from a dead calm to roiling whitecaps. I tend to keep the "gentle breeze" textures as my default.

As for the brightness and contrast, I find that it really varies based on sun angle and environmental conditions. If you've ever looked at an issue of AOPA Pilot magazine, you know that their aircraft photography is outstanding. I had a chance to talk with ther photograpy editor, and he said that the best shots are made with a low sun. It enhances the contrast. Based on that, I've tried to use similar techniques in the sim, and it seems to help. Even in my FSX shots.

Also, I use the FSRecorder camera setup, which allows for reallt precise camera control. I keep the pan speed at 10 deg/sec or less, and by varying the distance and zoom settings I can get shots which mimic what you'd get by varying aperture and shutter speed in the real world. Except for motion blur. I haven't figured out how to make that happen outside of Photoshop.

I read the Copy of AOPA Pilot Magazine that one of our members at the Bugsmasher Field leaves for us all to browse.

I still get COPA and there are always several issues left around the Bugsmasher Club House.
