Back up and running...I hope...

Postby Flying Trucker » Thu Sep 01, 2016 7:31 pm

Goodly evening all... <<q

Well it took a bit of time but this Microsoft FSX Deluxe with Acceleration is back running in this electronic gizmo... :o

ORBX and REX Essential Plus Overdrive are running...along with FSWC (Flight Simulator Water Configurator)

I did not Install Shockwave Lights, Texture Booster or Flight 1 Ground Environment X and Ultimate Terrain X

Installed most of my Payware Simulated Aircraft

NOT sure why I am not getting a Full Window Picture as when I took the shot using the "V" Key in FSX the simulated aircraft was in a Full Window...Strange
I even Paused the simulated flight for a second or two then restarted and took the shot...

I used Picasa for edditing and BD Sizer for resizing...

So here is what I got so far...

Windows 10 and FSX Deluxe with Acceleration:

Carenado Cessna 340
Image

Carenado Cessna 340 cockpit...could not get GPS to Display Map
Image

Default Beech Baron 58...always a good choice...
Image

Carenado Piper PA 31 Navaho
Image

Cockpit of PA31 Navaho from Carenado

Comments and advice most welcome... ;)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Nice-sh. ;)

Try taking screenshots in the "Window" mode. Something tickles my brain as that some times being a problem vs "Full" screen.

Glad you're up & running Doug. 8-)

I've never had that problem with screenshots. I can recommend this little utility. http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm
It works fine on my Windows 10 64-bit.

Good morning all... <<q

BOikat the Windows Mode is where all the Icons like Mail, Google, Skype etc all show at bottom of screen if I am correct.

It tells me I can not take a Screenshot from there.

The below shots are from the other screen whatever they call that...

Thanks and your replies are most appreciated... ;)

Good morning Doug... <<q

Bet you are already gone to some Bugsmasher Field to look at real aeroplanes...

I Downloaded the Link and Installed it...version 6 I believe...

If I want the Options to work I need to purchase it...not expensive at all...

Used BD Sizer and the below pictures is what I got...

Again your replies are always most appreciated... ;)

Hi Doug. No bugsmasher field for me today. After a lovely week the weather's taken a turn for the worse. :(

I just use the freeware ScreenHunter utility without the options to take & save the shots. I then use software like BD Sizer or IrfanView to resize any that I intend posting. I might post a few of my screenies later to show you the results.

Your second batch of shots looks perfectly OK to me so you're doing fine without it. You didn't explain what editing you do in Picasa. That's what appears to be causing your problems.

No, by "Window" I mean the "View" option from the options menu in the sim while flying as opposed to "full screen".

HI BOikat

Okay when I go there it brings up all my Icons and the simulated aircraft...it will not allow me to take a screenshot...

I click on Full Screen from the Options Window and that works... ;)

Again thanks for your help...

Hi Doug

Yes I open my Flight Simulator Picture Folder and use Picasa and do my editing then close Picasa and open BD Sizer and do my re-sizing...find it works for me...

You could send some rain our way...some farmers and folks are buying water right now...been very dry...corn did not grow and will probably be chopped for animal feed...fresh vegetables at the Farmers Markets are terrible...it would seem the rain goes completely past us or down the Lake...we have been in the mid-high 30 degree Celsius most of the summer with the Humidex in the 40s.

Again thanks for your comments and help Doug... ;)

What I wanted to know is - What do you do in the way of editing? I would have thought that with all those expensive payware addons your screenies wouldn't need any editing. :P

Hi Doug

Picasa
-auto crop
-auto lighting
-sometimes I will play with shadows and borders
-lots of times I just leave everything alone as I think I can ruin the atmosphere of a shot...so just resize with BD Sizer

That is about it...
