hello to you gripen flyer:

just some facts here the b-17 shoo shoo shoo baby was assembled at dover air force base in delaware. stayed a few years and then was donated to dayton air force museum in ohio ( I think I got the name right). right now we have a dafb museum that has a B-17, presidents plane air force. most of the vets from the east coast come to the base museum to talk about the stories they took part in as they look at the old ww II aircrafts and share more memories. on open house the members of the dafb museum will open up the all the aircrafts ( cockpits, and everything else its open to the public; sit in the cockpits move the controls everything, you name it they let them do that like hands on trainning.

sorry got off track here, but the shoo shoo shoo baby when it was being assembled at dafb museum my dad was a tour guide and every saturday to took me to the hanger where shoo shoo shoo baby was being refurbished. when I was there I saw crates and more crates scattered all over the hanger. I remembered these 2 wheels and the nose wheel I was small at the time so they were huge up close. they even had trouble finding the right paint scheme for the plane. I coiuld keep on talking but then the post will be a mile high in the sky so I will keep it simple. the members there said its like putting a big life like jigsaw puzzle together.

nice one, but which model is this?

For those interested in this aircraft, a while back I did a whole series of repaints of shoo shoo shoo baby for the A2A B-17, tracing more or less her whole career, from the 8th AF, via Sweden, the Danish Airline and Air Force, to her time with IGN and back to the States, where she was restored and flew to the museum. You'll find those paints on OZX.
Funny thing was, originally she was bare metal during WW2, but they restored her to OD, to camouflage all the metalwork that was necessary for the restauration...
