The cloud ocean descent

Postby reachva » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:14 am

Hey all,

Been a while since I last posted anything here, been rather busy getting my VA up and running. Been taking a few screenshots of my recent flights and I thought this one was photogenic enough to share. It features Reach Airways 737-800 "VH-WBA" on descent through the cloudbase into Canberra from Brisbane;

No editing has been done other than cropping out the camera details (I didn't wait long enough for the red text to disappear xD). The ENB settings I use are modified REX "Sunlight" ones. Clouds and weather are Courtesy of REX essentials plus + overdrive on 2048x2048. The aircraft is of course the wonderful NGX in the Reach Livery I created and repainted.

Enjoy!

I know that I have been several realistic pictures before this one, but this looks like someone took it with a real camera!  If the plane had a tiny bit of weathering on the texture it would be perfect!

Thanks. It's truly stunning how far flight simulator has come from its early days of wireframe terrain and pixel gauges. Most of this is also thanks to the add on community. There is almost nothing left of my FSX installation that is stock other than the engine itself.

There is actually a hint of weathering on the textures but its only noticeable up close. I like my airliners shiny and clean xD better presentation for the passengers.

Thanks all.

Here's one I didn't post of the climb out after take off, still a rather solid cloud base.

I've done a number of aircraft with this livery already, even planes that aren't a part of the fleet! Currently I have these done;

NGX -800 series;

VH-WBA, VH-WBC (standard livery)

VH-YQC (charter/ all white livery with reach airways titles and decals)

NGX -700 series;

VH-RBA (standard livery)

VH-RBB (special "all green" livery)

ISDT ATR 72-500

VH-ATA (standard livery)

---

Non official ones I've done include the PMDG JS41, the F1 BN-2 Islander, the QW 757-200 and a partial one on the sky spirit 767-300. I've even got a WIP of a retro style scheme for just flights DC-6B!
