Round the World in a 172 Hop 1

Postby Jayhawk Jake » Sun Jan 15, 2012 3:22 pm

Well, Jared and I started our newest adventure (along with a few others), attempting to fly a Cessna 172 around the world.

Jared and I were having a small argument while setting up, so I got in his face

Here we go...I'm in front, Jared is to the right, XFalcon750 is to the left, and Shane is above
Image

We started at the factory that builds 172's in Independence, Kansas and headed for Indiana.  Needless to say, there's not much exciting scenery on the way.  This is the Mississippi River, just south of St. Louis, and further proof that no one wants to go to Missouri
Image

Falcon had gotten bored and flew an F-16 all the way to the destination, then came back and tried to form on me.  It's a bit easier for the Cessna to cruise at 109 knots than the Falcon ;)

Falcon switched to a Katana and flew the rest of the way more reasonably, here I am following him to park (FS finally decided to make the paint work on my Cessna)

And Jared landing

Nice shots Jake.   :)
I'm envious of all who participated, as I currently don't have internet at home (I post from work). :'(
Love that aggressive nose-to-nose shot! 8-)

Cool flight, but indeed this big white flat area seems a bit boring for such a long flight. It's a good thing you had friends flying around. I tend to avoid this kind of areas as much as I can.

We'll be out of the boring soon enough.  I tend to avoid it as well, but unfortunately, I live in the thick of it ;D

Flying with friends is probably the only way of getting round the world in a sim C172 without dying of boredom :D

Great ones 8-).
I've never seen f-16's transforming into f-18c :o ;D
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
