There is no telling why.
Don't ask an aviator if he flys fighters.

The squadron was de-activated and its personnel reassigned in 1993 when its carrier, the USS Ranger (CV-61), was decommissioned.

re. leaking, that saying was standard for the Phantom.  At the Naval Aviation Museum there is still a drip pan under the F-4.

....and concorde. 002 at Yeovilton still leaks doesnt it? im sure i recall seeing that a few years ago.....
