Years ago when I was in Altus, America to learn the C-5, the MATS Connie showed up at the local airport for an airshow (the civilian field, not the AFB). I and several of my classmates thought it would be cool if the Air Force could provide a Galaxy for some sort of "family portrait." At the time, nobody in charge of anything thought it was such a great idea, although the sight of a "Heritage Flight" at public airshows is now quite common. Of course, the MATS Connie is now on a stick in Korea, so this will never happen, but here are some shots of the Heritage Flight I never got to do. Note the flaps and slats on FRED just to keep the deck-angle reasonable.

Reminds me of a photo of a different Heritage flight, a B-25 and a B-52. My friend was the pilot in the -25, and has a great photo of him with the B-52 in the background flying on his wing.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is. Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
