Otters and Sharks... Part 1

Postby cantflywontfly » Sat Apr 09, 2011 8:06 pm

After seeing Greg's recent pics of his Twin otter, i reallised i hadnt flown this great aircraft in some time!.. and thought to myself, where better to fly it than the great Vashon Island freeware scenery... short, dangerous, tree-lined strips?? ...perfect!!

those trees on the left look awfully close...

gently teasing the engines up to full wack!... starting to roll...

up, up, and away! gorgeous weather for flying... and the weatherman said it was gonna rain.

Image

Time to lower flaps and look for WA69...

Found it!!!

Thank you Doug!

i really enjoy the small trip from 2S1 to WA69 and back again, great scenery and a little challenging depending on what your flying!

on a side note:

do you think a C130 would do it? I dont think it'd manage the take-off.... Back in ten... will post the results!

Hi Deano

I was never checked out in the C130.  Flew it several times as a coutesy from the crew.  Put a good number of hours in the real Herc Sim...definitely nothing like a table top home computer flight simulator... ;D

The question you ask would depend on several things:
-the experience of the crew on type
-weight of the aircraft
-field condition (is the grass wet?)
-winds

There are a lot of factors to take into account.

Sorry but that is the best answer I can come up with.
