Apologies to my mates across the pond...

Postby patchz » Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:00 am

In my first thread on the Tilt Rotor, I mentioned there were a couple of short haul birds. But I failed to mention what the liveries were. Sorry.

Compression hurt this one. Just imagine how useful this would be with a Royal livery.

Thanks for looking.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Very nice Larry...has to be a lot of fun to fly.... ;)

Who ever painted the tail on the British Airways beast had to have had far too many wobbly pops...it is ugly... ;D

I wonder if the aircraft is in actual service with anyone yet?

[color=#000000]Thanks Doug. :) Yes, it is a ball to fly.

;D It might look a little better if I changed the green to blue to match the BA logo and the yellow to white. But I like the red. But it gives me food for thought. Maybe I should try repaints after 'several' wobbly pops.

If you could make the pilots wearing dress blues too that would really top it off.   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Good info, I figured it would only be a matter of time before the Osprey was added to HMX-1 (Marine One squadron)

I'm hoping, either it or this one. It makes good sense. Twin engines, but the capability for both rotors to continue unfettered should one engine malfunction. And less travel time between destinations, but with the same landing capabilities.
