What I'm hoping to get is a Part 135 (Air Taxi, Tours, and Lodge Service) job up in Alaska. I've been talking to Paul Claus of Ultima Thule Lodge, AK and he said to go and get all the time and ratings you can, because your experience is what matters when they look to hire pilots in Alaska.
Nothing beats experience and it keeps the insurance people happy too.

Now that's something new - a tailwheel rating.

Not having flown a taildragger would certainly mandate a checkout.

Makes the preflight walkaround a lot more meaningful when you understand how it all works.

Sounds like a sweet deal.  If the CFI says anything about flying, make sure you get his autograph :).

He's been signing off the flights in my logbook. Its nice to do some 'point A to point B' flying because most to the time during to flight lessons your doing maneuvers, and not really flying to any destination. I've also enjoyed getting flight time in different aircraft. Its fun to get to fly an aircraft for the first after you've changed the oil and spark plugs, because you know that you where the last one to look over the engine and systems.

Having a destination usually requires having a plan - one of the cornerstones of flying.
