Screenies and a request

Postby Ivan » Fri Nov 02, 2007 4:46 am

Another interesting freeware project from Dimitri Samborski.
This plane was made to provide image materials for a GMax modelling tutorial, Its a reasonably looking piece of work

Features:
[*]Thrust dependent intake hatches and turkey feathers
[*]Tiliting landing gear
[*]Very basic VC whitout gauges
[*]Workable FDE

Panel and FDE are being worked on. There is already a beta panel available... not for the faint hearted, you cant see much of the runway when landing.

Now the request is: can someone who is good at bare metal painting create the following liveries for this machine.
The whole fuselage should be bare metal, with the usual green dielectric panels.
Red 01, flown by the commander of Omsk Severny Airbase...
Blue 14, with 4 kill marks (rear end the same as on Red 01)
Mapping of the textures on the fuselage is a bit strange...

Ah, I love taking that beast up. Nothing makes you feel more powerful than flying the world's biggest fighter! ;D

As for repaints, I'm working on some more realistic and detailed bare-metal textures for it. Granted, it's a bit low on my ever-growing list of repaints-to-finish, but it's coming along nicely. Once the base textures were done, I hoped to paint a few other schemes for it, but I couldn't think of which ones to paint. I think Red 01 and Blue 14 will be great paints to start with.

It's a Tu-128 long range interceptor. Not fast or agile, but huge

Thanks Ivan! Not fast? What is it - a ship interceptor??

B-52 killer... if doing a textbook intercept (fire 1xIR, 1x Radar at the target), theres enough ammo underneath it to kill 2 bombers with each Tu-128...
