Ratz!!! I was rather looking forward to some more gore

. You could PM the bits where you dispatched your goblins though......and perhapse a link as to where you got the blood mod and he like. I have a three day weekend so this might be just the thing to play with in my freetime. Great pics to a continuing great story mate!

Well, to be honest I don't have any pics of the goblins being killed - fights are too frenetic for this. Also, you can't pause and look around with the camera very easily, mid battle. I actually posed the picture using the console and tai, tcl commands on the goblin. Then I moved around myself in 3rd person view. It's quite a bit of work, which is why I'm glad I got so many responses ::)

I recommend for combat:
Deadly Reflex by skycaptain - new combat moves etc
Martigan's Monster Mod - adds new monsters but MAY have a few texture issues (or it's something else - my Francesco's mod probably) and also improves monster behaviour
Mighty Magic - beefs up spellcasting
The blood mod is called 'A bloody mess" - it also has a possible bug that covers you in blood sometimes even if you don't fight - you contract splatterblood disease or something - a bit annoying - so I deactivate it sometimes.
There are other alternatives to these, but these are what I use. You can find them easily with google or whatever. You'll have to join Planet Elder Scrolls (fileplanet - membership is free though they bother you to pay) and The Elder Scrolls Source - it's well worth it.
To give Oblivion a real gameplay boost you need to install either Francesca's Mod or Oscuro's Oblivion Overhall - massive 500mb mods that change the gameplay, make animals behave naturally etc... but only recommended if you're ready to deal with some bugs/issues and are a real Oblivion fan.
Example - I was riding along when suddenly about 10 deer leapt out of a hedge in front of me and started running past. Shortly after wolves appeared, chasing the deer. I got off my horse to fight the wolves, and some of them attacked it. Unfortunately a barbarian appeared so I stopped defending my horse, and the horse ended up running away pursued by the wolves and the barbarian, me running after swinging my sword. I never saw my horse again! A similar thing happened when escorting the mage back from where I rescued him. A barbarian group attacked, he ran away, they gave chase with me behind, then another group showed up and the forest was filled with running characters shooting spells and bows, stumbling, falling, fighting. Pure adrenaline, especially as it was an important quest.... I lost my mage completly and gave chase to the groups on my horse. Luckily, this time the mage found me again...
This type of situation just makes Oblivion really come alive. Enemies dodge, rush you from all sides. Some run away, some animals just fight each other. It's completely different from the original game. It's awesome.
With Deadly Reflex you can shield bash skeletons to the ground in pieces, then watch as they reassemble and leap back up. You hit and watch the enemy grunt and reel. At higher skill levels you can decapitate heads/hands or cut in half your enemies. Or crush their skulls with blunt weapons* :o
Nothing compares though to spellcasting with "mighty magic" - you blow them away in a ball of flames - they just go FLYING. And heal spells are more potent too.
So, basic minimum - deadly reflex and mighty magic...
Have fun!
