Still a benchmark for helicopter sims...

Postby ATI_7500 » Tue Jul 24, 2007 4:53 pm

...even after seven years.

Actually, I wanted to buy Enemy Engaged 2, but the reviews were disastrous,
so I dug out the two Enemy Engaged sims (Apache/Havoc and Comanche/Hokum),
downloaded 550 Mbytes of mods and got a sim that still is pretty up-to-date.

Dogfighting a Ka-52. Very easy, thanks to the RAH-66's movable gun.

Sneaking along a riverbed, a perfect hideout for a helicopter.

Sitting on the pad and enjoying a break from the heated battle.

Sunset in Yemen.

Just how low is low enough?

Four flyable helicopters (RAH-66, AH-64D, Ka-52, Mi-28N)
Dozens of fully dynamic campaigns (Yemen, Alaska, Lebanon, Iraq, etc...)
Great sense of speed
Billions of SAMs

Razorworks really made a masterpiece with EECH.

I wish Apache Havoc would work for me  :-[. Never tried Commanche v Hokum, although that probably won't work if Apache Havoc won't. These pics bring back some memories.  :)

It will.

Apache Havoc just provides its helicopters and campaigns and Comanche Hokum will do its stuff.

Pepper, the difference between EECH 1.8.6 and EE2 are higher-res-models and more trees in the landscapes. Nothing else.

Ah memories. I wish I could find my discs. Are there downloadable versions of the sim out? Sure would be nice to fly em again. especially with the rig I have now vs what I had when it (they) came out.

You can't download EECH legally, despite the community having the source code.

Nice, shots are a bit dark, but very nice. We always played Commanche 3 against each other via null modem cabel (self build  :P). Was fun! Network was too expensive that time on our P1 200 MHz machines.

Times changed I guess......

Cheers,
Fabian
