Ah, I have had many a fun time using gunships in multiplayer - I would fly Nap Of The Earth so tower couldn't see me - then pop up out of no where. For better scare factor, use AV-8B Harrier armed with rockets.

I agree about using a Harrier. Unfortunately, the last version I had failed to meet my satisfaction in terms of take-off. Had the speed of a two-toe sloth :-(
