Can I make a BIG recommendation for you for your Manhattan scenery..
I tried to recreate your last shot, (forgot the snow.. )...but I have installed a tiny wee addon from Avsim
comes in 3 very small parts..updating from each other, but I've added them all for completeness.  nyc_obj2.zip  ,nyc_obj3.zip and nyc_mod.zip.    It'll stop Manhattan looking like Lego town.  ;)  Also two nice touches..the Empire State Building's night lights change with each public holiday ..ie..Red white and blue on the 4th of July, and green on St Patricks Day..etc..   and also,,,if you fly before 9/11/2001, the World Trade Centres are still there.  An improvement over the default, I hope you'll agree.
