Jolly Good!

Postby cspyro21 » Wed Nov 15, 2006 4:22 pm

Today I flew in a British Airways 737 from EGGW to LIMF and tried my hand at an ILS landing which went suprisngly well actually, considering I'm not too good at ILS landings (TSC will know... ;D)

I'll let the pics do the talking - they're in a thumbnail format because they were all rather large filesizes to post normally in one thread. ;)

The aircraft, albeit an FS8 model, works nicely in FS9...after you've replaced the flight dynamics (they feel a little unrealistic) with that of the default 737 - found here at Av***

The EGGW scenery is found on the UK page of the Freeware FS2004 Dtatabase, and if you look under Italy you can also find the LIMF scenery.

Enjoy! 8)

Oh I don't know 'bout that Charlie, if I remember correctly it was YOU that went back up into that 'pea-souper' to try & find Clipper after you'd completed your ILS in less than 1 mile visibilty. Me, I stayed on the ground & had a cup of tea whilst listening to a lost Clipper on TS.

I guess so TSC, thanks for teaching me, it's really good fun landing after an ILS approach 8)

And as for a lost Clipper? I could probably find him, but I'd never find my way back ;D

The story of my life, lost somewhere in the clouds...That tutorial ILS flight with the two of you got me started in a new direction in FS. Problem is I still can't find which direction that is. I still struggle a bit with ILS, but most of the time I can get it right...Thanks again Martyn, Cspyro, you always know where to find me right?  ;)

If you can get your interception and speed in the ILS right then it's a peace of cake, you just follow the diamonds ;D.

Fine bunch Spyro, what are you doing in an FS2002 model though? Moach, Kittyhawk, TinMouse are all better birds.... or not? The default 737 flies like a dead brick in FS9, or was that FS8, not sure.... :)
