By the way t let yall know, in reall life it costs the pilot or owner/operator 40k if the chute opens. And if u pull the chute the plane is finished(totaled)

I thought that the plane is only totaled if you do serious damage to it on landing.  I saw on incident where all that happened was the gear broke and the prop bent, so wouldnt it be fairly easy to replace the gear and the prop?

But there could also be structural damage to the airframe which would need to be checked out, and I presum the force going in to the landingear would trasfer though the airframe, also there is the cost of re packing the chute.

I would feel much happier flying an a/c that didn't "need" a parachute!!!!
I did spin recovery in my GFT and even when an a/c has good spin characteristics it's a very scary sittuation requiring a lot of determination. But, still better than relying on a parchute!!

good shots, lovin the interior! i have a different cirrus that looks nothing like that one.

for the one who thought it was slow...

SR20-G2 Base Price:   $249,995
 Cruise Speed:   156 KTAS
 Maximum Payload:   930 pounds
 Maximum range cruise:   882 nm

156kts at 7000ft is cruising for such a little plane!!

the chute design is a "ballistic recovery system". it has a rocket pack that fires from the plane to carry the chute out, right behind the cabin. the main gear is made to collapse with a chute landing to absorb the impact, the nose gear isnt-therefore, all you need to replace is the mains, not the engine/prop.

from cirrus' website;

[quote] also, standard safety features include high
