sad day indeed, but we saw this day coming. It wasn't very cost efficient to keep maintained. This govt is hell bent on technology that doesn't cost much to maintain and produces outstanding results in combat. The FA/18 Hornet is that versatile aircraft.

I too will miss the Grumman F14 Tomcat, this has always been my favorite bird to fly. Ever since hollywood put this aircraft in the Spotlight. I have always wish to fly her one day. But that will never happen..at least not in the real word for me.

Cheers to the Tomcat it will be missed  :(. But who knows what will be next in the world of drone fighter planes. This country is taking the initiative to remove the pilot from the cockpit to remove the airman casualties. so the next generation of fighter planes will be robot driven and there won't be no more ACE of the sky. Look out SKYNET is taking over.!
