p.s.- The Sea King is made by Sikorsky, Clip. :) Well I should say the original model.

Licence built by Westland and a damn fine job they do of it too. ;D

DC-3!

As Jake said, 70yrs of constant service in multiple fields and  monumental reliability and economy make this arguably the most versitile aircraft ever produced!

The Americans definitely have the upper hand in this contest, you'd have to be absolutely daft to not vote DC-3!

I forgot to mention the DC-3's classic lines, a beautiful aircraft by any means!

I aggree, got to be the DC3. First flew in the '30's and still flying today, not in preservation but working.

The C130 is a worth a mention though but surely is out as a it's basicaly a military plane?

Well it does say military jets, fighters and bombers are out, so I'm guessing the C-130 would count as it's a cargo aircraft. Plus, what about civil Herks? The L-100.

If we were to rule out all military aircraft, we wouldn't get very far. The DC-3 has served in the military, the Sea king has, and yes, even the Cessna Caravan has.
