All those oddities came from the German Projects of WWII...nothing more to say 8)

Very true, the Germans were ingenious with their aircraft design, if WW2 had never happened their air force today would probably be vastly stronger than most other countries. So many advancements in Military power over the last 60 years came from German scientist, NASA space rockets, Flying Wng/B2 etc...

If WWII had never happened then their designers wouldn't have had the incentive to be so creative. Nor would there have been funding for prototypes or even research. The world would be miles behind basically.

The starship is an oddity, there are only 2 flying now and it looks strange, unconventional.  I still say tacit blue, wierdest plane of all time: Tacit Blue

I really want one for FS

You and me both! I've always been intrigued by that plane. It has such a clean, simple shape and plain paintjob that I'm surprised one hasn't been made yet...

The Super Sylph is a fictional aircraft, so I don't know if it would count under this category. So I will hold on to her until the do a best design for fictional or SCiFi aircraft!

War is always the biggest influence on technical innovation. At the start of WWII, us brits were still useing Swordfish biplanes, at the end we had developed the jet fighter. Quite a leap in six years!

Thats cause the Swordfish was the best plane for the job. It even made it's replacement obsolete. :P

Think he thought you meant the Beechcraft Starship, not the Tacit Blue ;)

I saw a program on the Military channel about the Convair Sea Dart. That's my pick.
