Hawaii Hoppin' V

Postby Jakemaster » Sun Jan 08, 2006 7:37 pm

Hawaii Hoppin' I
Hawaii Hoppin' II
Hawaii Hoppin 'III
Hawaii Hoppin 'IV

I had just shut down the DC-3 when I noticed that the oil pressure in engine 1 was very low.  As I left the plane, I went to check it, and found that it was leaking badly.  There was no way that I would be able to fly for a while until the leak got fixed.  Luckily, a guy by the name of Milton Shupe had just finished renovating an old Spartan 7W Executive, and was looking for an experienced pilot to fly it.  I talked with him about my journey, and he agreed to let me fly his Spartan.

I fired it up at dawn, and the big radial came to life.

I climbed out of Lanai and headed for Kahului in cloudy weather

Milton installed a nice feature in this one!

The flight was short and uneventful, and as I turned around the mountains I saw Kahalui in the distance

I brought the Spartan in for a nice, soft landing, being careful not to damage Milton's beautiful plane.

And finally, after a short flight, I parked the plane and got her secured.

Next, I make my way to the Big Island of Hawaii!

You looky looky bahstahd!!! ;D

Just went through your series (nice), are you going to be taking the Sikorsky S77 up at any point?

You'll like the MAAM DC-3 (I have it myself).

How does that Spartan look at  night (are the gauges easy to see?)

Lastly, where is that Duggy repaint located?  And will you do one for the MAAM DC-3?

Great shots, and I appreciate the preview!

The night lighting is amazing on this one.  I didnt do the duggy texture, but its availiable on Flightsim.  I dont plan on painting the MAAM one as the photoreal textures are really difficult to paint, and also the owner of duggy wont let anyone paint it in the colors.  I plan on finishing my hops with the spartan (One long one and a final short one to end up in Hilo)

Thanks for all the comments!

Jake, how comes you get the preview?  ;D
Anyways, Milton is a great designer and a very helpful person so I can only expect great things.  :)
Nice shots, too!  ;)
