Here is a little story I am putting together (some of you may have read the "prologue" entitled 'The Return....' which can be found a few pages back in the freeware screenshot forum.) I don't know whether you will like this story, and, it's not meant to be completely historically accurate, so here goes.
RAF CRANWELL
1000 HOURS
14TH NOVEMBER 1942
I stepped out of the car. The wind and rain instantly set upon me like a ravaging swarm of locusts. But then I saw it. The main builidng at Cranwell College. It was tremendous, with it's wonderful architechture and things. I was astounded.
"Well, this is goodbye," my father said, as he approched me and stood next to me. This, son, will be your home for the next 2 months. Good luck with your training, and," he said with a tearful eye, "please write back home to tell us how you are doing."
"Dad," I replied, hugging him, 2I will live through this war. Besides, I'm not even a true RAF pilot yet, this will be my training. Still, goodbye, I'll write to you soon," with a final hug, as I turned towards the building that stood in front of me. My RAF career was about to begin.
