ONe shot and a plea for help

Postby Steve_Butka » Mon Sep 05, 2005 2:12 pm

Guys,

First, one shot to make this legit :

Now, I just want everyone to know that my FS9 experience has been severely crippled.

I got a new vid card, an Nvidia 5900 ultra, and the only thing I can do in FS9 is play flights from "Select a Flight" in VERY small aircraft-- basically nothing bigger than a Cessna.

If I try to load another aircraft, everything loas up but I get one frame every minute or so-- MAX.  If I'm lucky enough to get that, it's a step up from what FS9 usually does when I load a flight with a regular aircraft from a well-known airport-- a complete freeze up and crash of FS9.

I have all the updated drivers and all that junk and I really do not understand why this problem is occurring when with my ATI 9800 I had alittle to no trouble ocnfiguring it to run well.  I know the NVidia is capable of good things because when I fly some of the pre-selected flights (such as the ones that comes with Bill Lyons' Luscombe package) it runs as smooth as butter and eveyrthing is just plain smooth!

I posted of my troubles in the Hardware section but if someone with the 5900 ultra could pleeeaaasse offer some insight it would really keep me from uninstalling FS9 for good because this is just too much to deal with! :(

Thanks

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm much of a use when it comes to hard drives and all those other trinkets.  :'( It's an awesome pic tho! Very clear! Very nice  ;)

Can you try a system restore?  Do you know the last thing you did before this problem happened?

If not, then Sorry, the only thing I'd try at this point is a re-format/re-install...
