Flying a crate...

Postby Omag 2.0 » Fri Jul 15, 2005 11:41 am

Boy, I'd better start advertising for my freelance pilot-service... cause the jobs I am getting lately become crappier and crappier... but they are fun...

A new order reached my desk... If I was interested in a little "foreign" flight with local means of transportation... off course I was...

But the name Azerbaijan took me a little by surprise...

It was another of those "no questions asked - money in the hand" kinda deals, but I got to fly the Ilyushin-14! Now where is that dictionary... I don't understand squad of what the customer is saying... ah... Vodka... now that I understand!  :)

Business starts early... really early... She looks a bit old, but I guess she'll fly...

Image

Going up, the engines snorring happily ... sounding a bit like Ozzy on a bad morning...

Image

Darn, it's freaking cold out there... but makes a nice view...

Image

Now I see why the Nato called this one "the crate" ... it's a bit like a bus... gets the job done though and is quite reliable...

Image

And down in Kyurdamir... waiting for the pick-up... guess there are no taxis around for me... makes this kind of trip "adventurous"

Thanks for spending some seconds on this thread!

It seems that you can use some AZAL flightplans...

All you're missing is Harisson Ford at the stick. Nice pics with a very nicely crafted story. Stylish post Omag. Seriously.. :)
