It turned out she was not ready, so I took my time getting the plane prepped...

Olga and Alyssa came out to say good-bye, but DeeDee didn't even acknowledge them (when DeeDee had enterd and couldn't hear, I told them not to mind her).
They did take a couple shots as I took off.

DeeDee still wasn't addressing me directly, so it was Russel she was ranting and raving at. I told her to take off her headset if she couldn't be quiet as I couldn't hear the radio (unless she was so upset she wanted to crash and die).

For a wonder, she was quiet (and looking at me as if I was a dog that might bite her)...
It was foggy when we took off, but once we got above the cloud layer (over 1000'), the view was majestic!

A pilot in another plane (a Piper Arrow), got this one.

Views like this are why I love to fly at dawn!

Another from the Piper...

I caught this shot of a mountain, Bald Mountain, from what I could see on the map. Views don't get much better than this!

Unfortunately, those clouds made for some problems. I couldn't get transition clearance from Brunswick, so I had to detour. Also when I decended back into Salmon Falls, we went right into a rainstorm! I had my hands full just landing here (hence, no shots). Salmon Falls, in case you don't remember, is just a bare-bones grass strip with no lights. I had to make a go-around before I was able to get myself oriented.
Nevertheless, we made it down.

DeeDee seems to be better now, though she's still not talking to me (I've seen her in this kind of mood before...and my admonishment will likely aggrevate it, but she'll get over it). She and Russel went back home to do some laundry and some more packing. I'm going to do some laundry of my own, then nap for a bit before planning the next leg this afternoon.
