After enjoying our meals and drinks, it was time for some r&r. So we rented a De Havilland twin otter to do some off shore fishing with some of the locals (they pitched in with the rent of the plane he he ;D). Then we rented some special rods to fish at sea and bought some bait :D. Here we are fully loaded and ready to go :).

Davy had a hard time keeping the plane level, probably because we had about 10 people with us and they where all singing and dancing. When i asked them why they where jumping around they all said that they're praying to their god for a good catch ;D. I told them with a smile on my face that we just have a cool brewsky sit on a chair and hope for the best :). They then laughed even more ;D.

Trying to land off the coast of senegal and looking for a great fishing spot. What do i see high in the sky........ is that a Lancair Legacy :o............could it be.................no it can't be him i must be seeing things ???.

Davy made a great landing at the best spot for fishing (according to the locals) Atlantic Cod.

After returnig to our plane with the canoes, everybody was very happy with there catch, especially Davy, he caught the biggest Cod ever caught off the coast of Senegal, i took a picture of the fish before we threw it back into the sea out of respect for life(and we had no grill cook it on ::)).

Returning to the airport, all happy and content after a good catch ;).

Parked right next to one of Senegal's own national planes, looks kinda cool . We said goodbye to our new found fishing friends and promised to do it again sometime :D. Davy was so proud of himself that he was carrying the Canadian flag around the airport, once i got him to calm down and put the flag back into the plane we had a short drink and got ready to depart to Cape Verd

No, that wasn't me, but how did you add a Lancair to your AI traffic ???

Also, what is your friend doing holding a freshwater fish in the ocean?

Well maybe the swallow brought him...

Are you telling me that a 1 1/2 pound bird can carry a 32 or so pound fish?!

Could have been an African swallow...

But African swallows are non-migratory.
My first flight in a 172 on August 20, 2004
