Toronto to Toronto.....Part 12

Postby ludo62 » Sat Aug 21, 2004 5:10 pm

3PM, thanks to Sven the repairs to my plane went very fast :D you can see his repair shop in the background I also gave my plane a good scrub in and outside (it looked like i went through a mud puddle yuk :-[). I had a good lunch called cod and chips with a very special locally made sauce on it :D. Idid find some souveniers for my wife and kids, i hope they will like them. So i'm fully fueled up and ready to leave....... wait i'm just receiving a message from Reykjavic (BIRK) that it will be impossible to land their due to severe weather, i will have to make a detour and land in Keflavik (BIKF) Iceland  >:(. I will have to phone my friends
Andres ,Davy and Sandy in Reykjavik that i will be arriving in Kevlavik in 2:20 minutes from now.  :)

Successful take off, and my GPS and heater are working yoo hoo ;D.

Leaving the landmass called Greenland behind me ;)

Flying over the Denmark Strait, water everywhere.
Image
Gettting closer to Iceland, and as you all can see the clouds are getting thicker and thicker ::).
Image
The Icelandic coastline barely visible through the clouds and rain, but still a nice shot i think ;)
Image
The GPS really helped me out on this landing, found it yoo hoo ;D.

I had a smooth landing, even in this kind of weather things went well. My friends also just made it at the airport in Keflavik and we all where happy to see each other again. I think i'm staying over for the rest of the day, Andres just offerd me to stay at his place, i eagerly said yes 8). Tomorrow morning i will continue my journey to the Faroe Islands just a bit north of Scotland. so i'm going to enjoy my time here and spend some quality time with my friends and share some of my Molson Canadian and fried bologna i still have from Splash ;D.
PS, those Cessna Grand Caravans are from my friends cool eh.
Image
Stay tuned all you air freaks, more is comin' ;). Happy flying .

Ludo :)
