I think that a clarification of the 'theme' is required before we get more posts of just plane shots in flight.
We had 4 obvious very good airshow pics but now apparently straight flight shots also qualify as 'airshow'?
good shots, but airshow ??
please clarifiy before the theme choice become a joke. Some moderators action may be required ?
we either have a theme or we dont.

I was thinking about that, but hey, listen...This is my favourite FS forum, this is the only place where I found peace and chatting and posting with flying lovers, but on one side, that's our problem, to read about theme carefully and choosing the right shot, but on the other side I expect from other people to vote correctly and pay attention on every detail and first, the most important, what is monthly theme...

Trouble is there is little airshow scenery out there unless you pay for it.

I posted the question as it is early days of the new format contests and it may be helpful input to refine it as we go.
the answer lies possibly in setting a range of themes winners can pick from which are though not to specific.
So themes could be:
militairy
civil scheduled airlines
civil private
float planes
........
etc
we could all contribute to the initial list.
general themes which nevertheless would be a focus.

Well, lets see how this plays out first, it's all up to the imagination of the person who took the shot. We should trust in the people voting at the end of the months to interpret the theme with their decision. It's interesting because the person should have an airshow type aircraft mixed in with the scenery, its challenging, but it's really cool theme. I like it.

Sorry all. I didn't think that this theme was going to be so difficult.

No the theme isnt too tough but my point was that it wasnt well understood hence my request for some clarification.
I agree that ultimately the voters decide how well people have contributed. however I also felt that one of the reasons we have the 'new' form of contest is because participation in the old form was lacking. Sofar we would not seem to have achieved the objective of encouraging more people.
I think at least one lesson should be that all theme choices should be accompanied by a descriptive paragraph further expanding the meaning of the theme.

But the choice of theme itself was imaginative and well thought and sofar there are some truly cracking contributions.

I think that only havering two weeks for the contest would do it good also

And another thing about this 'anonymous' entry thing, is that maybe if they can take away the thumbnail it would be good because I can tell who uploaded what because of the thumbnail.

That would only be possible if the entries were emailed to the mods and they would repost.
Judging by the number of entries, this might not be such a pain, however I would fully understand if a mod said: thanks but no thanks!
