Just like old times

Postby Hagar » Mon Jul 13, 2020 11:08 am

I was told that Popham Airfield would be open to visitors over the weekend so arranged to meet some friends down there yesterday (Sunday). I'm so pleased that I did.
The weather was perfect & it was a pleasant touch of normality in these difficult times. Strict social distancing measures were naturally in force.

This is what I was surprised to see when I arrived. Lots of visiting aircraft already on the airfield. Just like the old days! :D

A sample of the aircraft that arrived later. Not all are visitors as some are residents returning to base.

What a brilliant day out. 8-)
This was my first time out with the camera since last year so I'm pleased with the results.

Thanks for the comments. It was one of those rare Sundays with perfect conditions. We haven't had any really decent weather since.

The first aircraft G-CTAB is a Champion 7GCAA Citabria (Airbatic spelt backwards).

Thanks H for the great photos.

Like you, I have been missing regular trips to my local airfield (Lashenden/Headcorn) but they to have recently lifted some of there restrictions and visitors are now able to park next to the runway and enjoy the comings and goings.

Brilliant!

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
