Grumpy again

Postby Rifleman » Mon Jul 16, 2018 12:21 am

Today was the Wheels and Wings event at Campbell River for this year, and as last year, we were graced with the presence of Grumpy, a B-25 which is outfitted with a few extra seats so paying passengers can enjoy the noise and feel of an old WWII bomber......along with it, they also brought a Dragon Rapide with the same intention......fund raising for the further operation of both aircraft. B-25 - $500 and the DH-89 model $350 for flights lasting about 1/2 hour.....if it keeps these old birds in the air, good for them....

I might have already told you that "Grumpy" used to be based at Duxford. I'm surprised the Rapide still has its British registration.
I suppose that's an important part of the BEA livery.

They both look in beautiful condition. 8-)

Indeed Doug, they are well cared for.....both are based out of Washington state....I heard talk of them being owned by someone at Microsoft.....I guess that's the kind of money it takes ...........

Both images were shot with Olympus gear, but not Kodakchrome 64...….. :-(

B-25 was shot with E-M1 Mk II … 40-150 2.8 Pro with MC14 teleconverter
Rapide was shot with E-M5 Mk II … 12-40 2.8 Pro
