Rare ?

Postby Rifleman » Sat Dec 24, 2016 11:46 pm

Every once in a while, we get to see a fairly rare sight in our area, but its not all that often that we get this kind of treat.....late in the day with the light starting to fail, a walk with Wendys dog, made me run home to grab my camera and come back to shoot this.......

Nice one Ken! Not one but two rare machines. 8-)

I'm not a great fan of helicopters but was always fascinated by the Kaman dual rotor system.

Certainly a nice Christmas find.

Is this the co-finder that was helping you?

This one used to be a regular fighting forest fires in the BC interior. Last I heard of this and other AN's belonged to McKenzie Helicopters. Looks nice in Heliquest livery now. Earns a fortune at $1600/hr.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I'm just wondering what would happen if the Rotor syncing gears in the gear box, lost a couple of teeth!

It all looks a bit dodgy to me!.... ....!
