Air Mobility Command Museum, Part 2

Postby OldAirmail » Sun Sep 20, 2015 8:48 am

Not all of the planes were open, but I did go in as many as I could get to before my knee gave out.

That knee was also a problem climbing into a few of the cockpits. :(

I didn't go in any order, nor were the pictures taken in any order. I'd get out of one plane, take pictures of whatever got my attention, and then go to the next plane that looked interesting.

On top of that, I didn't even try to get a picture of every plane. I was having too much fun. :D

If you have a complaint because I mixed up a picture or two, please stand in front of this tube. Your number will be up as soon as I can arrange it. :D

BTW - these aircraft look to be closely packed on the ground. They weren't, see the aerial view in the first post.

Another BTW -Just standing under the wings on a warm sunny day was fun. Plenty of breeze. A GREAT day. :D

Thanks, Pete.

What about air museums on your side?

I see lots of pictures of "air" shows. Not so much of the aircraft up close and personal, where you can reach out and touch them.

I'm jealous :D . Nice Dagger picture, reminds me of the "good old days" I saw them flying from Camp New Amsterdam (Soesterberg Airport, the Netherlands) and was lying in the grass near the runway to take pictures of them (which was strictly forbidden, ofcorse :D :D) . Unfortunately the MP's were faster than the Daggers......

Thanks for the pictures,

hertzie.
