.... ...!I've suddenly realised that the obvious visual difference between the Hurricane and the Spitfire...
...apart from the rag-and-tube shape of the Fuselage on the Hurricane, its that the Hurricane has a much larger Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder.
I can remember watching and hearing the overhead Dog Fights over the outskirts of the City of London (Petts Wood, Kent) in 1940!
...and getting bombed!

Alas the closest encounter didn't get a photo, I was in the queue to get out, between two hedges when a Spit came in to land. I could have reached out my window and touched the underside of the wings, scared the hell out of me and some pedestrians
