Congratulations Matt!! Nice to see her back on her wheels. I was starting to wonder if you were still working on this project since we haven't heard much about her lately.

Could you get some close ups of the engine compartment? It really looks good in the "stand off' view.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

Tis NICE. I like a car that can actually be recognized in this day and age. My 76 911S is in need of tlc visa-vis the cracked out green paint job but is physically hearty. My grandson will get it soon however and if he can keep jealous jds away it should take him another 30 years down the road. Suffice it to say that my mid life crisis is now a fond memory. SO all you wd-40 somethings get on the ball and make YOUR memories because regret of not doing it is indeed bitter.

When you've finished that, Matt, you can get busy on a restoration job on my classic, 1982, twin carburettor, chain driven OHC, 1499cc, Austin Allegro HL series 3, metallic bronze, 40,000 miles from new, garaged, unused since 1990.

Just a bit dusty...

Collection any time.

I need the space in my garage for my new Yamaha Dragstar Cruiser motorcycle.....

...to go with all my other bikes!

Paul.... ...!

I reckon you could convert an Allegro with a hack saw... or indeed attack it with some warm brie and the top will come off ;-)

Or smear the roof in Marmite, leave it a couple of days and then install the ragtop.....

..Hey, you lot, stop taking the Michael out of my lovely Allegro!... :x ....!

A sensible design, and she served me well for many trips, until the usual traffic congestion got so bad/irritating in 1990 that I concentrated on using my Motorcycle only, and the Allegro has been left sulking in my garage ever since.!

I don't think that I could manage four wheels safely again!... :o ...!

Two wheels are fantastic in traffic...(until it rains...like now!)... ...!

Paul...with Hydrolastic Suspension.... ...!
