Guess the aircraft!

I was on my way home from work when I saw this aircraft circling around several times practicing some short approaches. Now, I do know what the aircraft is, just wanted to see if anyone else wanted to take a guess!

Picture quality is bad, as it is from my mobile phone (digital zoom) and I was driving. A hint... this was taken right at Eglin AFB.

At first, I was going to guess it was a horsefly about to meet its fate against your windshield, but with the help of your location clue, I think I shall guess that it is the F35.

Wasn't that easy based on the quality of pic, and knowing what is based at both Eglin and Tyndall down the road, my initial thought was an F-22 beating the pattern up at KVPS.

Based on the wingspan, I'm going with a "C" model.

Yes, F-22's often fly patterns around Eglin, and in this case you are correct, this is the C model F-35! Its always great to see the variety of aircraft at Eglin. Last week I saw 2 KC-10s flying with about a half mile separation, and another day saw a B-52 flying some patterns as well. Not long ago there was a pair of Longbow Apaches flying around, and every once in a while AFSOC flies an MI-8.

What kinda freaked me out a few years ago was seeing a Mi-24 flying directly above me! Now that was something you do not see everyday in the U.S. haha!
