I see you like speed. I used to ride a kaw 1100 on the smallest frame they made... the name escapes me at the moment. I see back pains on long hauls and remember one important thing: this will accelerate MUCH faster than it will brake down from speed. I am not trying to lecture at all because you seem to know what you want.

Nice bike!
In my younger years I had a couple of CBR 600's and a Suzuki 1000G.
Oh, the feeling of freedom on those things! The acceleration and nimbleness - point and squirt! Nothing quite like it...
They were my forms of daily transportation in NYC for years. With those taxi cabs around, I always rode "aggressively defensive" as the bikes afforded ZERO protection from hits.
Good luck with your new family member! Stay safe and keep the rubber on the road!

This will actually be my second ZX7R. I just love 'em. They're so much fun to ride, always put a silly grin on my face! Rather looking forward to going off from work at lunchtime to collect her and then play for a few hours (till the petrol money runs out!)

After much discussion, she is going to be called Kara. Just thought you'd all like to know.
Doesn't she have lovely eyes?

She really is a monster MONSTER, Mark...!

Like Matt says... ;) ...Most of the bikes I see at our week-end get-togethers are naked, upright types, (sans fairings).

Lots of tourers and off-roaders now....

.... and Harley Davidsons!.... ...!

My lovely old Honda CBR 600FM would be out-of-date now!

Have fun...and take care, Mark!

Paul...frantic 2-stroking at the moment!.... :D ...!

P.S...Emi is not impressed?.... ... ...!

Now I know I am risking life and limb, a forum ban, marmalade injections where the sun does not shine, a visit in the night from men in balaclavas and most likely no more IT help from Mark......every again, but I just cannot resist...sorry........

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A...............................................................

I've just been chatting to some Harley owners this afternoon....

And they agree that their long rake, Harley chops are more suitable for the wide open, straight, USA Nevada, Arizona, etc, desert roads, than with the the narrow, short, twisty, English roads.... ;) ...!

They make fantastic, comfy, long distance cruisers tho...

...and long as you look sensible, dress sensibly, don't have a pot-belly and an excess of facial hair., and don't talk with a funny red-neck accent..... ;) ...!

Paul...Some of my best motorcycle friends are Harley owners!.... .... .....!

..just got back from a beautiful, warm, sunny ride through the Forest of Dean in Gloucester, admiring the sight and smell of the Spring Blue-bells, in the woods...!

Heaven on a Motor-Bike!... :D ...!

Very nice too Paul. I'm going out later on to the kids dance recital. Emi has insisted I turn up on Kara, I think she wants to show off the newest member of the family to her friends :-D
