Thanks for the comments. I'd forgotten all about this old topic. ;)

Sadly, Ron Souch who built this beautiful machine died earlier this year. A talented engineer & pilot and thoroughly nice man.
A great loss to the vintage aircraft community. :( http://www.pressreader.com/uk/pilot/20160401/282230894815191

Great shots...nice to see such tender loving care given to such a wonderful old bird.

If you're interested, I have posted to my Dropbox a paper card model for printing and building of Mystery Ship #31 with Registration R614K. The model comes in two sizes - I prefer the larger version for these tired old eyes while cutting out and constructing the thing. It's good, clean fun for those stormy nights or when the computer is down, or... Post a photo if you build one.

Thanks for the link FlexibleFlier. Not sure I'm "cut out" for that sort of thing.

Okay, Hagar, here we go: You're quite a "cut-up."

Lovely set or pictures sir,   I really love the planes from that era. Golden Age Simulations have quite a collection from that bygone time.

Cheers

Thanks Rick. I have most of the GAS Freeware which is excellent quality. I see they do a Mystery Ship in the Payware section.

I couldn't get any closer as it was parked behind a barrier.

Typically the sun disappeared behind a big cloud just at the very moment it taxied out to take off.
I desperately wanted some shots of it in the air & this is the best I could do.
