So, a few weeks ago I visited the Omaha area... and Ashland, Nebraska... Home of the Strategic Air and Space Museum. Many fine and rare birds here, but sadly I didn't get a chance to see two in particular... The B-1A and the Avro Vulcan ( !!!)

I did get some nifty pictures of some fantastic aircraft though... I figured I'd share! Every picture was taken with my phone (Galaxy S3)

U-2... What a fine Dragonlady... And a nifty panorama of some of the other birds!

Image
XF-85... Immensely rare aircraft right here! One of only TWO in the entire world!

And last but not least... One of the biggest reasons I wanted to visit this particular museum...

How often do you get to stare your favorite aircraft in the world... In the face?

The ever so beautiful, SR-71 Blackbird.

Had to get a posed shot with it too 8-)

Exceptionally good photos.

I was lucky enough to be stationed at Beal Air Force Base where the SR-71 was based.

It was strange, we couldn't take ANY photos, at ANY time, of the SR-71.

But you could go to the Post Exchange and buy a Revell SR-71 model airplane kit!

It doesn't look like it in a photo, but looking at it head on you have absolutely no question that this plane is FAST!

Looking at it again, your second from last picture does give a good impression of it's sleekness and speed. Well done.
