Discovery's final flight. She will now be at the National Air & Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.  It was an awesome sight to see and one that I will always remember.

The first shot is from the 2nd fly over and the rest are from the 3rd fly over. I videoed the 1st pass.

Hope they clean her up when she gets to her new home. She deserves it. Great set of shots. Do you plan to link the video? I'd love to see it from your view vs the media.

I hope they DON'T!! Much more impressive to see that it's survived re-entry more than once... otherwise, it could just be a mock-up, or a nonflying prototype like Enterprise (which NYC will be receiving next week).

They will be keeping her as is in which thay should. After seeing some of the aircraft they have on display you can tell they been used and are not just pretty models. They have character that way.  Now some are real shinny and pretty but that was the way they were when they were being used.

Great shots, but funny what digital processing does to a picture. If I did not know better pictures two and three look like they have had the Shuttle Photoshopped on to them. The contrast of the underside to that of the 747 looks off. Mind you, I think I would look a bit off if I had re-entered the atmosphere as many times as she did ;D ;D

I'm surprised they didn't plug the OMU's on the sides
