NAS Pensacola; T-45's, naked Fat Albert

Postby gtirob01 » Mon Apr 16, 2012 11:50 am

Had a week off to relax and take care of some stuff around the house, and I figured why not take a trip to Pensacola and watch a Blue Angels practice! Its only about a 40 minute drive from my place so I headed on out. The Blues practice every Tuesday and Wednesday in Pensacola and the practices are open to the public. Had a very nice showing, and I must have snapped hundreds of pictures, so here are some from the day...

Caught these guys getting out before the Blues practice

Fat Albert..... naked! The regular Fat Albert was in for repairs, so the crew took out an all gray Herc

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Great shots. Damn shame about ole Fat Alberts structure is to old to handle the JATO take offs anymore. I'm wondering why they just don't go to a J model or they havn't upgraded their fleet to the sleeker and meaner Super Hornets for that matter. Oh well, still a great team to watch in the skies ;)

Not quite the truth about the JATO takeoffs.  The truth is that they quit manufacturing the JATO rockets many years ago, and they finally have used up the last of them.

I think the reason they haven't upgraded their fleet is because there is a recession on at the moment & nobody
