Just some random shots from opening day. Nothing spectacular here, I'm just showing what I got to see on my first day there.

I wandered through the exhibit area and found a flying car! Look up Terrafugia for more info on that.

After that I watched the airshow. I took a few pics, most ended up being out of focus. I was using a borrowed camera that I was not familiar with. Anyway, this is the Aeroshell T-6 Texans in formation.

A nice looking Steerman.

Ford Motor Company is a major sponsor of Airventure, so they debuted their new 2011 Explorer... by flying it in with an Erickson Air Crane.

To top off the opening day festivities, Chicago played. I'm not exactly a big fan, but it was cool to see them live. This was the only half way decent shot that I could get of them.

So that was just a few highlights from opening day. I'm not planning on flooding the forum with pics, but I do want to post some good ones from each area that I visited. Expect Ultralights, warbirds, air displays and probably another "random" over the next couple of days. ;)

I have quite a few pictures of the DC-3's, mass arrival and all. I was planning to put them all in one big DC-3 thread. As a matter of fact, I'll do that this afternoon after work. ;)
