It would be paradise if it had an airport runway right next to the beach in #2. Otherwise this is pretty close.

Actually the airport is just beyond the dunes.

The last time I was on Okracoke Island was in the late 1960's, the only thing there that I remember was a Light house, a few houses and a restaurant, we would drive down from Kitty Hawk and put our car on a ferry boat from Hatteras Island, the main reason for the trip was to see the wild horse's on Okracoke Island. Do they still have wild horses there? And yes, as I remember, it was paradise! Mark

Hi Mark, The wild horses on Ocracoke were nearly removed from the island by the National Park Service back in the 1970's when the island became a National Seashore. Thankfully, a group of Boy Scouts were able to convince the NPS to keep the horses on the island, under the condition that the horses must be penned in. So there are horses on the island, but they just aren't wild anymore.
You can still see wild horses up on Bodie Island though. It's awesome seeing herds grazing on the dunes. Very picturesque. 8-)
