O[ch347]wi[ch281]cim - Part 1

O[ch347]wi[ch281]cim is the Polish name for a small village in southern Poland, which went later on to become Auschwitz.
We took a day there on a school trip to Krakow, it  was really interesting; yet really sad and powerful.

First, we went to Auschwitz 1, the first, and one of the smallest camps.

Here is one of the gas chambers still intact, you get a really horrible and sad feeling as you walked inside. :(

Then we went to Aushwitz - Birkenau, the extermination camp. IT was massive, hectares of camp, and could hold around 20,000 prisoners.
