A Piper Colt.

But some corrections are in order:

First one is an  American Champion 7KCAB, aka Citabria. Almost a Decathlon, but not quite.

Second one is a Piper Vagabond (I can tell by the rear window), not a Piper Tri-Pacer. A Tri-Pacer is a Pacer (sort of a 4-seat vagabond) horribly disfigured with a nosewheel (yuck!).
A Colt is a Vagabond, similarly disfigured (why? whyyyyy?!?!?!?).

Well, for the Tri-pacer/Vegabond thing, according to the FAA it's a PA-22. According to Wikipedia, that's a Tri-Pacer. It may have been converted to a conventional gear.

It's officially still a Colt for registration purposes. Proper Colts & Tri-Pacers are quite a rare sight in this country nowadays as most of them have been converted to taildraggers with retro-fit kits. I much prefer the the taildraggers.

Yea, my dad and I went up in our 185, but our alternator failed so we had to cut the flight short.

Does the name LeeWard has it's origins in Leeuwarden? a major frisian city?

My family originally came from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900's. I don't remember what their last name was, but it was very hard to pronounce, so they changed it to Leeward.

The word Leeward actually means the downwind side of a mountain or island, or the "lee" side. Windward is the opposite.

A Colt with an O320 or O360 and a tailwheel makes an interesting plane - as does a Cessna 150  .
