I've been looking forward to this for months. Beautiful weather for the New Year's Day fly-in at Popham yesterday. Over 100 visiting aircraft including some very rare types. Better attendance than some of the summer events. Here's a small selection.

Nice little Pitts Special. I like the registration.

The owner told me this is the only North American built Navion in the country. Very shiny.

Very pretty Skybolt.

Ron Souch's lovely DH Moth Major.

Another rare bird. The only one in the country.

An exquisite DH Dragon. I was told this was its first visit to Popham.

I'm not really interested in helicopters but you don't see many of these about. The Brantley B-2B.

Lovely shots Hagar. The weather certainly played nicely for the day. As for the Skybolt, would that be owned by an officer in the RAF by Chance....G-ENGO or JENGO, Junior Engineering Officer a semil official name for the said person on a squadron used to address him or her by the ranks. The same for SENGO, Senior Engineering Officer, though not directly used to address him.

Thanks Matt. I don't know the significance of the registration. The owner's middle name is Gordon which might explain the GO.

Great shots Doug, If there were over 100 planes, I'm going to site here and wait for the other 93 posts. Thanks for posting, Mark

Great shots. I love the plane in the 6th. When I first saw the registration on the 1st plane, ... nevermind.

Very nice shots! Love the glare on the Navion, and the shot of the Brantley. My grandfather used to have one of those.

[color=#000000]Great shots Doug. I was drooling over the livery on the Pitts and then I noticed the registration. Not sure I would want that one.

Wonderful shots Doug...very nice... ;)

Here I thought we were the only folks who flew about on New Years Day and then attended the Levee.   ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
