One of our local pubs has been rearranging the letters on its sign to make amusing anagrams for a long time. This seems to be catching on. I spotted this one on my travels yesterday. It took me a while to figure out.


Did you get it? Also, can you work out the actual name of the pub?

Ok, got them both, took me ages to work out what it should say, but got there in the end, PM on the way ;-)

Took me a little while. I've just realised I can make some pretty rude words from my local. Where did I put my stepladder?

Nobody except Steve has given me the proper names of the pubs yet.

If that first one says what I think it says I don't see what so funny about it. The second one, Hoochy Ale Cart, ok, kind of funny. The real names? No idea...

I'm disappointed in you Crash. I would never knowingly post anything offensive. Although it's not a very good anagram there is not a single G in it so I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion.

It actually means No Knickers On. The H is a spare letter. Look up the word knickers as Andrew suggested.

I took the 'H' to have the sound of the individual letter pronounced on it's own "huh".....or "her". So I took it to mean "No knickers on HER" 

I'll have a go at the other one today Doug, beats working
